Apache Box Canyon

The road winds along Bitter Creek, then we took the turn into the "Iron Knot Ranch", which is a Buddhist camp. They had a lot of colorful banners around the landscape, and most of them had Nepalese writing on them, mantras and blessings I suppose.

On past the Buddhists, the road turns into a narrow one lane track with no turn-outs. The edge is nigh!

The parking space at the top of the box canyon is a good place to get out and walk from...it's a ways down hill...But, we all made it!

The bottom was oak and grassland, a boulder choked seasonal riparian area.
Towering above was a dizzying array of giant cliffs, caves and crags.

The walk back up the hill was not so tough as we anticipated. The ride back was edgy though...
