The Coronado Trail...
Looking at the Black Hills, that low
range of mountains between Safford and Clifton.
That is Thumb Butte behind me in
the first picture, and Mt. Graham rises in the background of the second photo.
Mountain views...
This old homestead probably dates back to the early 1900's. There were a lot of snakes there, mostly black-tailed and Arizona black rattlers. The old miner/settler had blasted out a seep so permanent water is still available. There is also an apple tree nearby which has the best apples in the world!

up the trail, just before climbing up the Mogollon Rim is the Arrow Tree...
It has been a tradition to put one in this tree prior to the hunt since at least
the 1960's...
