Fort Bowie, Arizona Territory.
We picked up Norm for a short jaunt back in
time to 1863.
Fort Bowie features the conflict between the Apaches and the Union Army. There
is an interesting mile and a half hike to get to the old fort, the path skirts
several points of historic interest along the way.

This old graveyard is occupied mostly
by soldiers of the California Regiment who were killed in conflict with the
Apaches. However, three Apache children are also buried here, including the 2 year
old son of Geronimo.

Remains of the Indian Agent's house,
a wikieup, and the Apache Spring.

Images of the old Fort Bowie
Site, which was abandoned in 1894.

My kind of sign!
