Our birdng class took a field trip to White Water Wash in the Sulfur Springs Valley (Cochse County, AZ). The weather was cold and snowy this day (1/23/10).

Sandhill Cranes....
On the second weekend of class we visited the Discovery park nature preserve where we saw several ducks and 2 owls...We also saw a pair of Harris Hawks hunting low to the brush.
After calling in a tow truck to get one of the vans unstuck from the mud, we headed over to Roper Lake and saw....Yep....Several ducks and two owls. We also saw a cattle egret and what I think was a Northern Harrier (hawk).
