Desert King Snake

Lampropeltis getula splendida

The Desert Kingsnake is primarily an animal of the Chiricahuan desert. They have a chain like pattern of gold colored patterning coupled with black. Their heads are almost always black. These animals are good to have around the home because they will kill and eat rattlesnakes as well as rodents.
This particular specimen has a lot of yellow on his sides, whereas most desert king snakes have more black.
