Starting off close to home...Here is a shot of my backyard pond. There are a couple of cacti along the shore, but the main visuals are the Mexican Poppys that I was fortunate enough to nurture from the seeds given to me from a neighbor. There are also several pond lilys and lots of spirogyra in the water. My pond is home to all the birds around here, including a pair of orioles, many quail, doves, wrens, etc....At night you can hear the sounds of red spotted toads and woodhouse toads that live there. There are also some lizards that hang out nearby, at least one desert gecko and uncounted numbers of whiptails.
Here's an odd bird that came to visit one day!
